Libby Canup Named 2026 Volunteer of the Year
Clemson Alumni Association Names Libby Canup 2026 Frank Kellers III Volunteer of the Year
The Clemson Alumni Association is proud to announce Libby Canup of the
San Francisco Bay Area as the recipient of the 2026 Frank Kellers III Volunteer of the Year Award, one of the Association’s highest honors recognizing extraordinary service and dedication to Clemson alumni and the Clemson Alumni Association.
A 2011 graduate with a degree in Marketing, Canup has served as president of the NorCal Clemson Club for the past two years, helping strengthen connections among Clemson alumni across Northern California while expanding opportunities for engagement, networking, and service. Under her leadership, the club has broadened its footprint by launching watch parties in new locations, organizing group outings to Clemson athletic events at Stanford and Cal, and increasing collaboration with fellow ACC alumni organizations throughout the region.
The Volunteer of the Year Award is selected by Clemson Alumni Association staff and presented annually to a Clemson alumnus or alumna who demonstrates exceptional volunteerism and service to the organization throughout the year.
Among Canup’s proudest accomplishments as a volunteer is fostering meaningful relationships among local alumni that have endured for more than a decade. She has also helped create a welcoming environment for visiting alumni, parents of current students, and Clemson supporters passing through the Bay Area, ensuring that anyone seeking a Clemson connection can find one.
Professionally, Canup is a proven go-to-market systems and revenue operations leader with more than 15 years of experience spanning consulting, product leadership, and technology transformation. Most recently, she served as Group Product Lead for Go-To-Market Systems at Block, Inc. (formerly Square), where she built and scaled the company’s first product-oriented go-to-market technology organization. During her tenure, she led teams supporting more than 30 technology platforms across Block’s global business units and helped drive operational efficiency for a multibillion-dollar enterprise.
Prior to Block, Canup held leadership positions with Slalom and Capgemini, advising organizations ranging from emerging technology companies to Fortune 500 enterprises. Throughout her career, she has been recognized for her ability to build high-performing teams, align stakeholders around strategic goals, and leverage technology to accelerate business outcomes.
Beyond her service to Clemson, Canup actively volunteers with San Francisco CASA, where she applies her technology and operations expertise to improve internal systems and processes. Her efforts help the organization reduce administrative burdens so staff and volunteers can focus more of their time supporting youth in the foster care system.
Reflecting on her Clemson experience, Canup credits the university with helping shape both her professional and personal journey. She cherishes the years she overlapped on campus with her sister, Emily, a Clemson nursing graduate, and the lifelong friendships she formed through Kappa Delta. She also points to several Clemson courses and faculty members whose lessons continue to influence her leadership and communication style today.
