Joshua Lindell Smith ’17
Joshua Lindell Smith of White Plains, Md., an IT Consulting Professional
with multinational technology consulting company Accenture, earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematical sciences from Clemson in 2017. He also has two master’s degrees: one in sports industry management from Georgetown University and another in information technology / systems engineering from the University of Maryland Global Campus. In addition to PMP, he has Lean Six (Green Belt) and IC Agile certifications.
Joshua joined Accenture in 2022 as a strategy and consulting associate manager, recently promoted to Manager. He oversees large scale projects, manages business development efforts, and mentors new professionals. Previously, he held positions with Deloitte and the District of Columbia Department of Health Care Finance.
His local leadership roles include serving as partnerships chair for the DMV chapter of Black Sports Professionals (BSP), building and sustaining mutually beneficial relationships with corporate, community and institutional partners. Additionally, through the DC Rhinos Mentoring Program, he identifies, obtains and directs resources to enhance the lives of young males in the metro region. He annually helps prepare meals for families staying at the local Ronald McDonald House while their children receive care at nearby medical facilities. He has also volunteered with So Others Might Eat (SOME), assembling care packages for individuals and families in the community who are experiencing homelessness and poverty.
While with Deloitte, the largest professional services network in the world by revenue and number of employees, Joshua expanded the firm’s Clemson recruiting pipeline by 10 percent and strengthened career pathways for Clemson graduates entering the consulting industry. As an alumnus of the Chi Zeta Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, he has helped raise more than $1 million for three scholarship endowments to support future Clemson students.
