Hannah Elgin ’16, MBA’23 – Clemson Alumni Association

Hannah Elgin of Seneca has two Clemson degrees: a 2016 bachelor’s in sociology and a 2023 master’s in business administration. In 2024, she became a Society of Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP).

As executive director of people, culture and equal opportunity at Adler University, she leads human resources strategy and operations across campuses in Chicago, Vancouver, and online. She supports 700 employees across 27 states and two countries and is a member of the university’s Senior Leadership Team. She has led human resources through institutional restructuring, overhauled payroll and tax systems, and established more than 100 policies to drive consistency across campuses. She modernized performance management and compensation frameworks to strengthen organizational alignment and oversees a $30 million retirement program.

Hannah began her professional career at Clemson. She co-led premium seating and hospitality operations for IPTAY, before transitioning to the human resources department to support talent acquisition initiatives focused on hiring Clemson Tigers. She later served as a corporate recruiter and project manager at Techtronic Industries.

She has served as president of the Young Alumni Council and established a planned gift as Clemson’s youngest legacy donor at the time of her commitment. Through the Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business, she helps students interested in human resources navigate career pathways and secure internships and full-time roles. As an advisor to the Clemson Finance Club, she reviews student resumes, supports development of the club’s resume book for industry recruiters, and participates in initiatives that connect students directly with employers.

She supports organizations including the American Red Cross, Our Daily Rest and the Greenville County Museum of Art. She also owns and manages residential rental properties that create more accessible housing options, reflecting a broader commitment to stability and opportunity at the local level.
