Dr. Katie Britton ’14, M’18, EdD’25

Katie Britton of Easley has three Clemson degrees: a 2014 bachelor’s in special education, a 2018 master’s in educational leadership and a 2025 doctorate in education systems improvement science. She also has a 2022 master’s degree in instructional design and learning technology from Anderson University and now serves on that program’s advisory board. She holds Trained Evaluator certification from the National Institute for Excellence in Teaching and has completed numerous leadership programs at the county and state levels.

She began her professional career in 2014 as a special education teacher at Plain Elementary School in Greenville County. She transitioned to a second grade teacher and was recognized as the county’s Emerging Teacher of the Year in 2018.. During the COVID pandemic she created and implemented a fully virtual curriculum that both met state standards and provided individualized instruction for her students. She collaborated with fellow educators to design math curriculum resources that were implemented across the district.

In 2021, she assumed her current role as an instructional technology coach in the School District of Pickens County. She serves students and teachers throughout the district supporting more than 70 classrooms in integrating effective instructional technology that supports the skills of a 21st-century learner.

She regularly leads professional development and presents at both local and national conferences, sharing innovative practices that empower educators and contribute to improved student outcomes. She is the founding president of the Clemson Education Alumni Council and has held leadership roles in the Clemson University Education Consortium.

A former member of Clemson’s cross country and track team, she supports current student-athletes as an IPTAY donor. She was a member of the Mauldin High School’s girls soccer coaching staff for seven years and is an active member of Grace Church, where she volunteers in the nursery and supports young families in the congregation.
