Tara McElroy Named to Clemson Alumni Association Board of Directors

The Clemson Alumni Association has named Tara McElroy of Charlotte, North Carolina, to its Board of Directors.

McElroy earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing with a Sports Emphasis minor from Clemson University Headshot in gardenin 2004. She currently serves as Vice President of Sales, Americas, for Cricut, Inc., where she leads the company’s Mass Market Omnichannel Retail team and oversees key retail partnerships with major national brands, including Walmart and Target.

A dedicated Clemson alumna and volunteer leader, McElroy has remained actively involved with the University and its alumni network for more than two decades. She previously served as an at-large member of the Clemson Young Alumni Board from 2009 to 2015 and was a leader of the Charlotte Clemson Club Young Alumni program following graduation.

McElroy served on the Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business Advocacy and Engagement Board, where she was a member of the Executive Committee. She previously served on the College’s Alumni Loyalty Board, including a leadership role as chair of the Membership and Recruitment Committee. Her Clemson involvement also includes support of IPTAY’s Hear Her Roar initiative for women’s athletics and participation in the Powers Women’s Leadership Summit.

In addition to her service to Clemson, McElroy has been active in her community through organizations including March for Dimes and the Friends of Fourth Ward nonprofit organization. She has also served in leadership positions within her homeowners association, including terms as president and secretary.

As a student at Clemson, McElroy was involved in numerous campus organizations. She was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority, served as treasurer on the Executive Board of the National Panhellenic Council, and was an active member of the IPTAY Collegiate Club.

On her appointment to the board, McElroy stated, “Clemson has been one of the most meaningful influences in my life, shaping not only my education and career but also many of my closest friendships and a lifelong commitment to service. It is an incredible honor to serve on the Clemson Alumni Association Board of Directors, and I look forward to helping strengthen connections among alumni—especially the next generation of Clemson graduates—while supporting the University’s vision through meaningful engagement and service. I hope to contribute in a way that ensures every alumnus feels connected to the Clemson Family and inspired to give back, just as Clemson has given so much to me.”

The Clemson Alumni Association Board of Directors consists of 22 members and serves as the governing body of the Association. The board’s primary responsibilities include oversight of the Association’s programs and initiatives, financial review and audit functions, policy development, and strategic planning.
