Kayley Emma Seawright of Charleston named to Alumni Association Board
The Clemson Alumni Association has named Kayley Emma Seawright of Charleston to its board of directors. Her term will begin July 1.
Seawright earned a Bachelor of Science in 2014 and a Master of Science in 2019 from Clemson University, both in Mechanical Engineering. She currently serves as an Aeromechanics Structural Analysis Engineer for NASA’s Space Launch System at The Boeing Company in Charleston.
Seawright has received the following certifications in her field: Architecture & Systems Engineering: Models & Methods to Manage Complex Systems (MIT, 2020); Leadership Mastery Certificate Program – The Science and Genesis of Leadership (UCLA, 2020); Women in Leadership Certificate Program (Cornell, 2018); Additive Manufacturing for Innovative Design and Production (MIT, 2016) and completed Private Pilot Ground School – Fixed Wing (Emory-Riddle Aeronautical University, 2021).
Seawright currently volunteers in her community through the DreamLearners Speakers Bureau, Habitat for Humanity and the Lowcountry Food Bank. She is a member of the American Institute of Aeronautics & Astronautics (AIAA), Boeing REACH South Carolina, the Society of Women Engineers and Boeing Women in Leadership.
As a student at Clemson, Seawright was Undergraduate Student Body President, served on Student Senate, was a campus tour guide, and an orientation ambassador. She was a member of the Blue Key Honor Society, Alpha Delta Pi, the Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Society and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
Seawright dedicates her time to Clemson as the chairman of Boeing’s Clemson Alumni Group and focal for corporate/university initiatives and has served in various roles on the Clemson Young Alumni Council. She is a member of the Charleston County Clemson Club and was previously a member of the Central Florida Clemson Club (formerly known as the Orlando Clemson Club).
The alumni board has 22 members and is the governing body for the Clemson Alumni Association. Primary responsibilities of the board include general oversight of the programs and initiatives of the association, financial audit and review, the establishment of governing policies and strategic planning.
