Ben Moody of Charlotte named Chair-Elect of Alumni Association Board

The Clemson Alumni Association has named Ben Moody of Charlotte, N.C. as its Chair-Elect Ben Moody named Chair-Elect for the Clemson Alumni Board of Directors of its board of directors. His term will begin July 1.

Moody earned a Bachelor of Science in financial management from Clemson University in 2016. He currently serves as a vice president and Corporate Treasury Manager at Bank of America in Charlotte.

As a student at Clemson, Moody was president of the Sigma Chi fraternity, served on the Interfraternity Council (IFC), and was a member of Tiger Brotherhood.

He has served on the Clemson Alumni Association Board of Directors since 2021 and has held the position of Treasurer since 2022. Moody has held various roles with the Charlotte Clemson Club, including the club’s past president, president, vice president, and an at-large member. He was also a member of Clemson Young Alumni Council. Moody is a board member for the William Brian Moody Foundation, a nonprofit based in Charleston, SC, which raises funds to support a scholarship endowment and annual awards in the Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business.

He also remains active in the Charlotte community by volunteering with local organizations and nonprofits.

On his appointment to Chair-Elect, Moody stated, “I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to lead our board in the future, and I’m honored to follow the inspiring legacy of our many past chairs and current chair. I am most excited and energized by the passion of our alumni staff and board, and the opportunity to continue the important work of engaging our alumni at every stage.”

The alumni board has 22 members and is the governing body for the Clemson Alumni Association. The board’s primary responsibilities include general oversight of the association’s programs and initiatives, financial audit and review, establishment of governing policies, and strategic planning.
