2026 Alumni Master Teacher – Dr. Andrew Pyle
Dr. Andrew Pyle has been an Associate Professor in the College of Behavioral, 
Social and Health Sciences since May 2014. While many of his nominators identified him as an engaging, approachable, and interesting instructor, it was Dr. Pyle’s ability to make students feel truly seen, heard, and valued – in and out of the classroom – that led to his selection as the 2026 Alumni Master Teacher. As one student said, “Dr. Pyle always steps up – as an instructor and as a friend.” Always seeking “light bulb moments,” a student said, “Dr. Pyle is constantly bringing students together to make Clemson feel like home. He gives them a place to land, to learn, and to discover more about themselves. He has been an essential part of my journey at Clemson.”

He has been an essential part of my journey at Clemson.”Dr. Andrew Pyle, an Associate Professor in the College of Behavioral, Social and Health Sciences since May 2014, is celebrated as the 2026 Alumni Master Teacher. Teaching courses in areas including Strategic Communication, Public Relations, Crisis Communications, as well as a host of courses in the Honors College, Dr. Pyle was nominated by students for his approachability, his desire to see students grow, and his ability to make Clemson feel like home to so many. With extensive research in Social Media and Intercultural Crisis Communications, Dr. Pyle shares his knowledge and experience with hundreds of students each year. Along with being an engaging instructor, he is known for hosting game nights and meet-ups and for going above and beyond. “I would nominate Dr. Pyle repeatedly if possible. He is the embodiment of all that is good. He treats us like family and genuinely cares about our success. I’m so thankful he has been a part of my Clemson Experience.” One of Dr. Pyle’s current students stated, “It’s almost like this award was made to recognize professors like Dr. Pyle. Hundreds of students would vouch for this man. He is a Clemson man that needs no introduction but deserves to be honored for his humility, character, and dedication to his students and this University.” The Clemson Alumni Association and Student Alumni Council are proud to recognize Dr. Andrew Pyle as the 2026 Alumni Master Teacher.
