Rings Old and New

I was so excited to get my Clemson ring in 2005 and was equally devastated when, in the summer of 2008, I realized I didn’t have it. I re-traced all of my steps, called people I had visited, it never turned up. I waited an exact year from when I lost it thinking, “of course as soon as I place a new order, I’ll find it.” But when one full year lapsed and my ring never showed up, I stopped by the bookstore while in Clemson that next summer and ordered ring no. 2. It arrived a week before Thanksgiving and I couldn’t have been more thankful that year—at least not until two months later when I was given the next special ring of my life, my engagement ring.
