A Little Help from Friends.
Since 1997, I’ve been living in Lancaster, Calif., contracting to Lockheed as a systems and database administrator in the F-22 Flight Test Data Center. Last November, my house was burglarized, and my 1982 Clemson ring was among the items taken.
In May, I received an email from Clemson alumna Louise Munro ’73. The email said that she had seen my ring being auctioned on the Internet, and that since she’d known my sister Charlotte ’72 and met my brother Nick ’74, she figured that the ring must have been stolen.
That day, with help from the LA County sheriff and LAPD, I retrieved my ring, stolen some six months before, from a pawnshop in North Hollywood – all because a member of the Clemson family knew how special Clemson is to my family and made the effort to contact me.
