Clemson Ring Ceremony

The Fall 2024 Ring Ceremony is set for Sunday, October 27.

Ceremony Times and Assignments

  • Will be announced after Fall Ring Week

Due to the complex nature of the ceremonies, requests for specific assignment times cannot be accommodated.

Each participant (student) is assigned a specific seat in the venue. Seating assignments, the section and seat number, are included on the Participant’s Ticket. Each student is required to sit in this assigned seat as this assignment is directly connected to your Clemson Ring. Therefore, participant tickets cannot be exchanged or traded with another participant.

Travel Recommendation: Parents and guests are encouraged to arrive the day before the ceremony and leave the day after as ceremony times may prohibit travel the day of the event.

The Ring Ceremony is intended for those Clemson students who have earned a minimum of 90 earned hours and who have purchased their class ring from the exclusive manufacturer of the Clemson Ring.

Graduate students who have completed half of their required hours may also purchase their ring and participate in the ceremony.

Participant Ticket Pickup:

Students who registered for the ceremony must pick up their ticket at the Clemson Alumni Center (109 Daniel Drive) on Tuesday, October 22, or Wednesday, October 23, from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. A photo ID is required to pick up tickets. Student tickets are necessary for their seat assignments at the ceremony. Guests do not need a ticket. Students without a ticket will not be allowed to participate in the ceremony.

Guarding of the Rings

Starting at 7:00 am on Sunday, October 27, the rings of each participant will be on display at the Scroll of Honor guarded by Clemson University’s Pershing Rifles. The rings will reside in this space so each student and their family may have the opportunity to locate their ring or their loved one’s ring and privately reflect on the impact of receiving the ring and the awesome responsibility that comes with wearing that ring.

Each participant may also hold a private moment of silence for those members of the Clemson Alumni family who are memorialized by the Scroll of Honor. The Scroll of Honor contains the names of 498 alumni who served in the military and gave their lives in service to our country. The Clemson Ring serves as a constant reminder to those who wear it that the ties of the Clemson Family run deep and connects each of us to one another, including those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

In the event of inclement weather, the Guarding of the Rings and the Parade of Rings will be canceled with no make-up date.

Parade of Rings

The rings will be paraded from the Scroll of Honor to Littlejohn Coliseum 15 minutes prior to doors opening for each individual ceremony. Recipients and family members are invited to line the street to watch the parade and students are asked to fall in behind the parade to process to the student entrance in preparation of the ceremony.
