Mount Vernon Estate & Gardens Volunteer Morning
October 9, 2021
9:00am – 12:00pm
Volunteers are invited to join us for this fun morning outside as we experience Mount Vernon and its beautiful fall colors. Our Clemson family will help groom the estate’s surrounding forest areas helping them appear as they did in the 18th century. This is a very family friendly event and children are encouraged to attend. Water, gloves and fun will all be provided.
In addition to volunteering, you will hear stories about the historic property including behind the scenes details about the estate that are not part of the typical ‘public’ tour. This is certainly a unique and fun way to see this beautiful monument and give back to our community at the same time. Many thanks to Dean Norton ’77 for organizing this event!
Please note:
– Consider wearing long pants, work gloves and sneakers/work shoes comfortable for moving around wooded and uneven terrain
– Volunteers are welcome to bring water bottles and/or snacks
– Depending on the weather, bring and/or wear sunscreen, bug spray, hats, sunglasses
Registration is free for members, their children and one non-member guest. For all other non-members, registration is $10. More details and registration at https://www.clemsonclub.org/index.php?id=event-details&eid=6g4v0b84d48f866vpdepgb2dsc.
