TIGERAMA 2017: ORANGE CRUSH

October 6 @ 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm

TIGERAMA 2017: ORANGE CRUSH

Six seconds left on the clock. Clemson is down 28-31 against the mighty Crimson Tide. The scene is set for one of the most epic comebacks in College Football history. Orange Crush: the play that will forever be on a looped film in the eyes of every Clemson fan packed in the stadium in Tampa, crowded downtown, or huddled around the TV. Every fan can tell you exactly where they were and exactly what happened. Orange Crush was written in history that night and will always be remembered by any member of our Clemson Family, young and old.
However, the meaning of Orange Crush is more than just the play that crowned us as National Champions. As Clemson students and alumni, we will all forever have a “crush” on Clemson and the spirit that is endeared by the whole campus. You see this crush as students tearfully accept their class rings that signify their connection to every Tiger that has come before them, as hundreds of thousands of Tiger fans flow into the tiny town of Clemson every homecoming weekend, and as students, faculty, and alumni paint the town completely orange every Solid Orange Friday.
Orange Crush is best exemplified by the “wave of warmth,” felt by Joe Sherman when, “outsiders” say, “I don’t know what it is about you Clemson people, but your undying love for Clemson is admired by everyone I know.”
Tigerama’s 61st show will once again be held in its original venue, Death Valley. The evening kicks off with a pre-event held in the grassy area between the West End Zone of Memorial Stadium and Lot 1 at 5 p.m. There will be kid-friendly games, face painting, t-shirts, and a live band to get everyone excited for the evening’s show.
With the show being in Memorial Stadium, the gates for the event open at 6 p.m., and we kick things off at 7 p.m. The program features an exciting twist that it has not had in recent years…a skit competition during the show. A judging panel will be in attendance and student organizations will present their skit and compete for the award of “Skit Champions” for the year.
Other groups will be presented at Tigerama as well, including Tiger Band, Rally Cats, the Cheerleaders, and our Clemson Tigers Football Team.
The night concludes with paw-shaped fireworks, the alma mater, and an incredible amount of hype for the Homecoming game to follow the next day.
Tickets for Tigerama can be purchased at the Hendrix Student Center information desk or on Cooper Library Bridge from 10 a.m., to 2 p.m., every day on the week leading up to the show. Tickets for students and children in advance are $10, and adult tickets are $13. On the day of the show, tickets are $13 for students and $15 for adults. They will also be sold on Ticketmaster.com. HISTORY OF TIGERAMA

On Nov. 8, 1957, Joe Sherman and Blue Key Honor Society oversaw the inaugural performance of Tigerama, making it the second-largest, completely student-run show in the nation.
Tigerama has become a hallmark event of the Homecoming weekend in Tigertown, highlighting for an audience of thousands the best of what Clemson University has to offer.
Since 1957, Tigerama has been more than a celebration of Clemson’s Homecoming, it is a unique experience for Tiger fans of all ages. Tigerama is not only a catalyst for school spirit, it is also a source of essential scholarship support.
Since its founding in 1957, the proceeds from Tigerama have provided the top student from each academic major a Tigerama scholarship, which recognizes excellence in the classroom and leadership in the community.
